How it works

From billing disputes to service disruptions, no two complaints are the same, which is why our membership is flexible. Here are some scenarios where membership could be exactly what you need:

Steve has been overcharged by his internet service provider. He submits his free complaint asking for a refund, and has the issue resolved after his initial enquiry. Steve is happy with his result and doesn’t sign up for a membership.

Dennis has an issue with his laptop but is told his warranty won’t cover it. He knows it isn’t a simple problem, so he earns points by completing surveys and redeems them for a membership.

Dennis, Points member

Monica suffered a house fire, and her insurer is dragging out the process, refusing to settle. She purchases a membership to stay updated on the progress and buys additional points, which she redeems for an escalation to the advocacy group.

FAQS

Do you have a free trial?

We don’t offer a free trial; however, you can cancel your membership at any time. We would never want to lock you into something that doesn’t deliver value.

We offer free membership for people who genuinely need it. Please contact us with details about your personal situation. We’ll get back to you promptly.

How long is my membership for?

That is up to you. Membership is $24.95 a month, and you can cancel at any time. However, your membership will be automatically renewed for another month unless you tell us otherwise at least two days before the next payment is due.

What happens if I cancel? Is there a cancellation fee?

We’ll make a little sad face if you decide to cancel but we don’t hold grudges. There aren’t any cancellation fees. However, if you have escalated your complaint through us, you’ll need to keep your membership active for our continued support.

If you’d like to cancel your subscription, please ensure that you do so at least two days prior to the end of your billing cycle.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Are there any hidden charges?

Just like you, we hate hidden fees and charges. We tell you exactly what the cost will be upfront and let you decide if a monthly membership suits your circumstances.

Is there anyone I can talk to about joining Handle My Complaint?

We’ve made it as easy as clicking a few buttons to join Handle My Complaint.

If you’re unsure what’s included in the membership, contact us and we’ll get back to you promptly to answer any questions you may have.

What if I need to change my details?

If you need to change personal details, such as your phone number or residential address, this can be done through your membership page easily and updated immediately.

Can I share my membership with friends and family or give a membership as a gift?

The subscription cannot be shared with friends and family. However, you can give them their own monthly membership for just $24.95. If your loved one is having difficulty resolving a consumer-related concern or wants to avoid problems in the future, a HMC membership gives them peace of mind.

Do my points expire?

If you maintain an active membership, your points don’t expire. If your account is inactive for 12 months, points will expire but we’ll give you a month’s notice before they do.

My question isn’t here, where do I reach out for support?

Our lines are open 24/7, 365 days a year. Contact us and let us know how we can help. We’ll get back to you promptly to answer any questions you may have.
